Learning Outcomes
What is it?
“Endurance” is an interactive, science-led learning experience designed for those who want to take their physical performance to the next level—whether they are training for their first 5K or a full marathon.
How long is it?
60 minutes (45min + 15min Q&A)
How is it hosted?
This session can be delivered either:
- In-person (at your office or chosen venue)
- Online as a live talk
It is highly interactive in both formats, using Slido to engage participants throughout.
What the content includes
- How to prepare nutrition for endurance events
- Calculating hydration
- Are you eating enough
- Should you carb load
- Intra-workout fueling: a guide to gels, electrolytes, and “real food” alternatives to prevent “hitting the wall.”
- Understanding sweat rates and the critical role of sodium, magnesium, and potassium.
What attendees will gain
- Knowledge of what to eat before, during, and after training to maximise results.
- Reduced injury risk
- Tools to stop the “post-training slump” so that exercise energises your workday rather than draining it.
- Clarity on performance aids like Nitrates (beetroot juice), creatine, etc
Ideal for
- Corporate sports teams: run clubs, cycling groups, or triathlon teams within an organisation.
- High-performance cultures: firms that encourage a “healthy body, healthy mind” philosophy as part of their brand identity.
Why nutrition for exercise matters in the workplace
- Mental resilience: endurance training builds the “grit” and discipline that translates directly into handling long-term, complex work projects.
- Stress neutralisation: exercise is a powerful stress-reliever; however, poor nutrition during exercise can spike cortisol. Proper fueling ensures exercise reduces work stress rather than adding to it.
- Team cohesion: supporting employees’ physical goals outside of work fosters a sense of community and shared achievement within the team.
