Smartphones and tablets affect sleep even when turned off

A systematic review of 20 studies involving in total 125,198 children aged between 6-19 years old identified a strong association with bedtime device use (of media devices excluding TV, desktops, personal computers) and inadequate sleep quantity, poor sleep quality and excessive daytime sleepiness. Worryingly, children who had access to but did not use the devices at night were also susceptible to the same effect.
