Vitamin pills may shorten life
Or do they?
A study into a possible link between vitamin pill usage and higher death risk was reported in the media this week:

The research asked 38,000 women about their supplement choice over the last 20yrs, and found particularly iron correlated with a higher death rate.
One criticism of the report is how can people recall which supplements they took and at what dosage last year let alone 20yrs ago? Also they may have been taking the supplement for an underlying condition i.e. iron for anaemia and this may have been the cause of death. Quite a good review is on the NHS website
